  1. Hi Harry
Thank you. Yes, I’m really pleased! While I also love the cover of Cuckoo, I know that some people are a bit surprised about how un-pink it is when they read it. There has even been some (possibly sexist, but hey…) discussion about whether men would want to pick Cuckoo up in a shop. I think Every Vow You Break is more universal in appeal, and I love the disconcerting, slightly seasick-inducing diagonals…

  2. I cannot wait!!! Have just finished ‘Cuckoo’ and have never before had the urge to contact an author on finishing a book. Completely amazing, by far one of the best books I have read. My mum has now taken my copy and calls me with regular updates on what part she has reached!! I await the ‘Every Vow You Break’ with excitement!! You have such a talent and way of drawing the reader in.

  3. HI Charlotte
Thank you so much! Please feel free to gush away as much as you like! I’m so glad you loved Cuckoo; even gladder that you took the time to let me know. It has brightened me up on an otherwise slightly hungover morning of grappling with novel #3, which is

  4. L.O.V.E.D ‘Cuckoo’ – found it thrilling on every level and littered with suspense and drama on every page!
Found myself devouring it over xmas (during baking batches of mince pies, bathing the kids etc!!)

Found the characters and plot fairly original…but have to admit that at times, I wanted to shake ‘Rose’ as she was too trusting!
I’d like to think that IF ever there was a so called ‘friend’ like ‘Polly’ who’d snaked her way into my life – I’d be strong enough to eject her P.D.Q!!

Looking forward to your next novel and definately on my list of favourite authors!!

    1. Thank you Jacqueline! I’m so glad you loved Cuckoo. I love the image of someone baking mince pies with her nose in my book! Hope you had a great Christmas and a fab 2012.

  5. Julia, I would like to thank you for writing a fantastic story – Cuckoo! I haven’t read a book from cover to cover in over 10 years. After numerous attempts, yours was the only one, after all this time, that has left me wanting to read more. It even got to the point that I had to use the excuse of not feeling well to finish yet another chapter! Fantastic and I look forward to another.

    1. Wow, Marisa. It’s really wonderful to hear that Cuckoo grabbed you so uniquely. I’d really recommend Erin Kelly’s The Poison Tree as another unputdownable read in a similar vein to Cuckoo. Hope you have a great new year.

  6. Will look forward to the new book! Started reading Cuckoo on the morning of new years day and finished it this morning, 24 hours later. I was so into reading it yesterday that didn’t put it down until 2 am this morning , I then had just a few pages to read, so finished it this morning with my tea and toast. I loved it, although sometimes I wanted to scream at Rose and give her a good shake I thought the characters in it were great. Discovered your website when I was looking to see if you had written anymore books, I will be looking forward to the next one!! Happy 2012

  7. Will there be a hardback edition? I would love to buy a signed first edition. Will you signing copies for Alan White Fine Books this time?. Good luck with the new book.

    1. I don’t think there are any hardbacks, Jason. I’ll have a word with my editor, but I didn’t see any at the printers. How shaming that I know so little about my own book.
