Jessica Craig, United Agent’s Foreign Rights person emails me to say that the Italian publisher Garzanti read CUCKOO overnight and have made an enthusiastic pre-emptive two book offer. This is fantastic news, partly because it is vindication for retaining world rights for United Agents to sell, rather than selling them for Headline to deal with. Also, it means that I will most likely get to go to Italy for work purposes!
