Go with Old Man and a group of family and friends to the Coliseum to see the Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch (no relation, but a friend) production of Satyagraha, Phillip Glass‘s opera about Ghandi. Our mate Vic Llewellyn is also in it, as a puppeteer.

It is beautiful, visually and aurally, but, boy, is it long, and the systems music, while beautiful, repetitive and meditative is also soporific. I think our refreshment choices were telling. Before the show: a couple of glasses of wine each. Interval one: Diet Coke. Interval two: Diet Coke and ice cream. Even so….
